The Crystalled Bride: Sylvan Quartz Crowns Inspired by Forest Fairy Tales

Captured by Russian photography studio WarmPhoto, this mysteriously enchanting shoot was conjured up to showcase Berlin-based milliner Tatiana Ashakova’s latest collection of handcrafted headpieces, a series of raw quartz crowns spiked with a hearty dash of woodland whimsy. Both earthy and elvish, her moodily magical hair adornments look like something out of a Brothers Grimm storybook.
“To complement the fairy-tale aura of the crowns, we incorporated mineral specimens, twigs, and lots of foliage into the shoot,” says WarmPhoto’s Janna Teplovy. Building upon the forested feel, flower artist Natalia Malakhova fashioned an array of wild-looking floral arrangements featuring ferns, ivy, succulents, and cotton branches. Donning an airy quartet of moss-green boudoir and bridal dresses, her strawberry-blonde locks left slightly tousled beneath Tatiana’s glinting crystal circlets, model Yulia Drunk easily calls to mind the tree nymphs of lore.
