Signature Cocktail #24: Chai Amaretto
By Lauren Kathryn on Jan 17, 2014 at 1:00 am in
If you like a cozy mug of comforting chai tea in the winter, you’re bound to fall in love with this spiked, chilled version that’s perfect for cocktail hour with friends. Our wedding wellness expert, Carlene Thomas of Healthfully Ever After, shares the recipe.
For this cocktail, I started with a homemade chai concentrate, then added a dash of Amaretto, a splash of vodka, and some creamy almond milk for a smooth texture. If you prefer a different flavor, change up the vodka you’re using. Want something spicier? Opt for ginger vodka. Sweeter? Go for vanilla! What’s not to love about the ability to personalize?
Ingredients (serves 2)
♦ 3 ounces of chai concentrate
♦ 2 ounces of vodka (plain, ginger, or vanilla)
♦ 1/2 an ounce of vanilla almond milk
♦ 1/2 an ounce of Amaretto
♦ 1 teaspoon of simple syrup
Make the chai concentrate by brewing 8 ounces of chai tea. Put on the stove and reduce by half. Add ingredients to shaker with ice and blend until chilled. Pour into a glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
