Rose Quartz & Serenity: An Elegantly Earthy Wedding Shoot at Rock House Hideaway

Set at Rock House Hideaway, a charming Texas Hill Country bed-and-breakfast that boasts a newly built barn for hosting events, this earthily elegant shoot takes its cue from Pantone’s unprecedented 2016 Color of the Year, which is a unification of two colors: Rose Quartz, a warm, milky pink, and the cooler Serenity, a soothing, airy blue suggestive of the sky. True to the essence of Pantone’s hybrid pick, the eventscape is a tranquil, harmonious blend of different aesthetics: countrified and urban, antiquated and modern, light and bold.
Inspiration was also drawn from the geologic beauty of rose quartz itself, with raw gemstones and ornamental rocks appearing throughout.
“We went for a glammed-up natural look,” says photographer Lori Blythe. “Gilded geode slices graced marbled menus set atop crystal-clear plates on a farmhouse table accented with a gauzy runner and geometric terrariums brimming with soft flowers.”
The icing on the cake was real-life couple Kaleb and Sarah Dale, who served as models. Sadly, their own wedding got rained out, so the two were delighted to pose for the outdoor portraits they’d missed the first time around.
