Mood Board #86: Wuthering Heights
By Lauren Kathryn on Jan 2, 2013 at 11:07 am in Vintage and Classic
Though Emily Brontë’s bleak and solitary novel may seem like an unusual source for wedding inspiration, there is something wildly romantic about the intensity of Heathcliff and Catherine’s flawed, all-consuming love—despite its ill-fatedness—and the desolate, mist-laden moors of North Yorkshire. A moody palette of dark burgundy, marshy brown, foggy white, and deep purple-pink, the color of the wild heather that blankets the moorlands, sets a striking tone. Incorporate Gothic details, such as dark velvet ribbons, and dramatic floral arrangements full of wistful flowers. Designed by Saipua, the one we included in this board boasts dinner-plate dahlias, sedum, snowberry, chocolate cosmos, tuberose, astrantia, dusty miller, heirloom roses, and hydrangeas.
