Bostonians Gia Bernadette and Michael Alexander met one rainy October night and were instantly smitten with each other. Mere months later, they found themselves headed to Woodstock, Vermont, for a weekend getaway. “Michael and I immediately fell in love with this quaint New England town, and it was here where we first expressed our love for one another,” Gia recalled.
A little more than a year later, Michael proposed. “We knew right away that our wedding had to be in Woodstock,” Gia said. “Although it would be a destination event for all of our guests, we wanted to share this special place with our friends and family members.”
Given their sizeable families and large circle of friends, the pair knew that their autumn wedding would be big in scale, but they still wanted it to have an intimate, organic feel that celebrated the season in a subtle way. “We wanted to take advantage of the bold beauty that fall has to offer in Vermont,” Gia said, “but we kept our wedding colors soft and refined, using off-white hues, pale pinks, natural greens, and lace and burlap touches.”
Held at the Woodstock Inn & Resort and captured by AMW Studios, the couple’s stylishly rustic nuptials were full of old-fashioned country elegance. “We couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful wedding,” Gia said. “It was full of love and whimsy. Our love story really began in Woodstock, and we felt so lucky to have our closest friends and family members gathered in this meaningful place to celebrate our love.”
