Kenzie Owens first caught Craig Vorass’ eye at a live music show in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was just spectating; he was in the band. Sadly, she didn’t pick up on the indie rocker’s attempts at flirtation, and he soon abandoned his pursuit of her. But their paths were destined to cross again. Four years later, Craig happened into the little chocolate shop where Kenzie worked. This time, she made the advances, and the rest, as they say, is history.
After getting engaged on the shores of Lake Superior, the two began planning a handmade wedding at a big white barn in Elk Mound. Filled with bits of Americana and free-roaming critters, the charmingly rustic venue spoke to the couple’s shared love of antiques and animals.
Flowers for the occasion were gathered at a local farmer’s market, and Kenzie drew on her background in graphic design to personalize the day’s papery, from the invitations to the programs, which featured playful illustrations of the wedding party.
“Kenzie has a great eye for detail,” said Shaunae Teske, the couple’s photographer. “The wedding was so full of color and fun!”
