Signature Cocktail #17: Lime-Mint Mojito
By Lauren Kathryn on Oct 2, 2013 at 6:11 am in Classic
Few drinks are as crowd-pleasing as the classic mojito. This week, Carlene Thomas, our wedding wellness expert, put a twist on the traditional recipe by amping up the mint and citrus for a lighter sip.
Mint and citrus have long been used to brighten beverages. While there are some mojito recipes that are heavy on sugar and rum, this cleaner cocktail has more lime and mint than most. Fewer calories and more refreshing? That’s a mojito worth serving up.
Ingredients (serves 2)
♦ 1 lime, juiced
♦ 1 tray of ice, crushed
♦ 1 cup of fresh mint leaves
♦ 2.5 ounces of white rum
♦ 1 cup of water
♦ 1/8 cup of sugar or agave to taste

Crush ice and place in glass. Add mint, lime juice, water, sugar, and rum to a blender and mix on high to blend mint leaves. Pour the mixture through a strainer and into glasses. Some mint will remain, which is fine. Garnish with lime and mint.
