When photographer Lauren W. showed up on a brisk November day to photograph the wedding of Hannah Weeks and Justin McAulay, she knew instantly that their union was something special. “Hannah and Justin clearly have the kind of love that people spend their whole lives searching for,” she said. “They are so aware of, and attentive to, each other.”
The Virginians had traveled all the way to Kentucky to tie the knot at the Louisville Glassworks, a contemporary multi-use facility converted from an old manufacturing building. Dedicated to the art of glass and home to two glassblowing studios, the venue boasts an ultramodern yet highly adaptable space—the ideal setting for the chicly handmade event that the happy couple imagined. The two thoughtfully crafted almost all of the wedding’s details, from the signs to the centerpieces.
“One of my favorite pieces was the ceremony backdrop, which Hannah and Justin fashioned out of tulle and string lights,” Lauren said. “It gave off the most amazing glow as they exchanged vows.”
