The Fairest of Them All: A Snow White-Inspired Wedding Shoot
Photos By Ashley Giffin Photography

Captured by Pittsburgh-based photographer Ashley Giffin and styled by Bumble Burgh Events Co., this spellbinding shoot took its cue from one of the Brothers Grimm’s most treasured fairy tales: “Snow White.” Mirrors, of course, were a central recurring element. A mélange of them, each ornately framed, were strung from the curved branch of a tree to form a beautifully reflective photo backdrop, while handheld looking glasses were transformed into individual menus with a flourish of calligraphy and a bit of black lace. Green Sinner’s foliaceous floral designs evoked the feeling of an enchanted forest—much like the one to which the fairest of them all fled in search of refuge—and the dinner setting, Bar Marco’s cavernous, whitewashed wine cellar, enhanced the sense of ensorcellment.
Designed by sustainable florist Green Sinner with locally sourced blooms, the beribboned bridal bouquet contained an intriguing mix of dahlias, scabiosas, seed pods, eucalyptus leaves, branches, and foliage.
For a look more of fantasy than of reality, nontraditional bridal boutique Glitter & Grit accessorized a floaty Rebecca Schoneveld gown with scale-mail spaulders from Silmaril Clothing.
Note the nod to the Wicked Queen’s poisoned apple!
Suspended black feathers, tendrils of trailing amaranthus, and a mossy runner imbued the tablescape with a darkly magical feel.
