DIY Acrylic and Pompom Escort Cards
By L. K. on May 15, 2017 at 4:00 am in Modern
Whether we’re talking pets or pompoms, a little fluff never fails! Lovely Indeed’s Chelsea Foy shows you how you can add some to your escort display with today’s whimsical DIY.
“These days, my motto is ‘pompoms on everything,’” Chelsea says. “They bring a playful touch to any project, and I love how they add texture to the smoothness of acrylic escort cards. These bright pieces would make a fun addition to any spring or summer wedding.”
Start by making your pompoms. Open the legs on either side of your pompom maker and wrap yarn around each side. The more yarn you wrap, the fuller and fluffier your pompom will be.
Close the legs on the pompom maker.
Point the tip of your scissors between the ridges of the legs and snip apart the yarn on either side of the pompom maker.
Pull apart the two halves of the pompom maker to reveal your pompom. Give it a little trim to make sure it’s nice and round.
Next, cut your acrylic. Measure out the size that you’d like your escort cards to be. Make sure to leave the protective paper on the acrylic until after you cut. Use a circular saw to make the cuts in the acrylic. Drill a hole in one corner of each card.
Remove the protective paper from your cards.
