The talented stylists behind Ivory & Beau—a non-traditional bridal boutique that offers wedding planning services in addition to a carefully curated selection of handpicked gowns and one-of-a-kind accessories—is back on Swooned with a beautiful bohemian-flavored shoot photographed by Mackensey Alexander.“We wanted to bring some folksy Southwestern style to the marshlands of Savannah, Georgia,” says Adrienna McDermott, Ivory & Beau’s co-founder.
Starting with a simultaneously bright and muted palette derived from the colors of desert cacti, the team designed an earthy setting with rustic Southwestern touches. Strung from bare branches, handmade decorative dreamcatchers formed a unique ceremony backdrop, and flint arrowheads were used as accents throughout. Thrive Catering, which focuses on innovative, sustainable cuisine, put a twist on traditional Southwestern fare with menu items like chilled avocado soup shots, chili-dusted corn on the cob, and calabaza empanadas garnished with star fruit. Prints of a vibrant abstract landscape painting by local artist Melissa Hagerty served as placemats.
