Alli & Parker: A Bright Summer Wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Alli McCullough, a social worker, and Parker Krasney, a mayoral advisor, met while working on human rights projects at the New York office of the Open Society Foundations. The two would spend their free time together in nearby Central Park, where they claimed a secluded rock as their own little spot for lounging and engaging in long conversations. Fittingly, it was here where, years later, Parker knelt down on one knee, drew forth a vintage diamond ring, and asked Alli to spend the rest of her days with him.
The couple’s choice of venue came as naturally as their love. Without hesitation, they selected the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a blooming oasis that includes an array of specialty gardens and the Steinhardt Conservatory, which houses a bonsai museum, three climate-themed plant pavilions, an aquatic plant house, and an art gallery.
The pair exchanged vows beneath the rustling branches of a giant willow tree. Afterward, guests strolled about the lotus and water-lily pools, sipping cocktails and nibbling on colorful crudités before heading into the glass-walled Palm House for dinner and dancing. Inside, floral artist Sachi Rose had set the tables with vibrantly lush arrangements that nearly outshone the surrounding flora. Not even the threat of rain could dampen the brightness.
“Although the skies were overcast, spirits were high,” said photographer Sarah Tew. “From start to finish, Alli and Parker’s wedding was a fantastic day full of love, sweetness, and fun!”
