Alison & Kealan: An Anniversary Shoot in Philadelphia
Photos By We Are the Kerns

We think every couple should have photographs of their love’s many seasons to look back on as the years go by, which is why we have a fondness for anniversary sessions, and for this one in particular, as it documents a thoughtful couple who has set an admirable goal of marking each year of marriage with a love shoot. Kealan and Alison Hobelmann are in their second year of wedded bliss, and husband-and-wife photography duo We Are the Kerns accompanied them—their sweet dog, Colby Jack, in tow—on an easy Sunday afternoon of wandering and exploring their favorite Philly haunts: the hip Northern Liberties neighborhood and Greensgrow, an eclectic urban farm and garden center in Kensington.
“I felt lucky to have been a part of this day,” said Autumn Kern. “The love’s always a little sweeter and deeper a few years out from your wedding day.”

The first thing I thought is, what a way to create a family tradition, centered around love and The Union of Marriage. This is so much better than what is traditionally happening between couples who are married and looking for a way to relive their moment. You know the whole renewal of vows thing. Not knocking anyone who decides on the latter but an Anniversary Photo Shoot is so much more creative. Now for something else I think you will appreciate.
Since we love Weddings and The Union of Marriage so much over at Abornewords, among other things, It is the reason that I can not help but share this.
I am thinking about the 2003 Movie Just Married starring Ashton Kutcher and Brittney Murphy. It was full of love and laughs. The thing that made me laugh the most is when she got so dramatic and weepy over the fact that everyone was going to know she was not a virgin anymore. Then she told her husband that everyone would know that he was the one that deflowered her. The irony is that she had not been a virgin since college and he reminded her of that very fact. Anyway if you have time you might want to get in on this:
If you decide to sign up tweet to @Abornewords using the hashtag #Isignedup
