Captured exquisitely by photographer Erin Johnson, this quintessentially cozy shoot took place in the beautiful white wake of a snowstorm at the Lake Superior Barn in Maple, Wisconsin. Situated on the south shore of the largest of the Great Lakes, the 4,250-square-foot barn, made up of a patchwork of reclaimed wood from across the United States, might look rustic on the outside, but it’s chock-full of modern amenities on the inside—a game room with heated cement floors, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, and a contemporary wood-burning fireplace, to name a few.
Erin and her team played off the setting to create a warm and inviting winter wedding scene. Punched-up holiday hues and relaxed neutrals were carried throughout the décor, and a subtle chicken-and-egg theme reflected a nod to the region’s agricultural roots. The bride’s ruffly Vera Wang gown was paired with a snow-blue flannel, and the groom looked seasonally dapper in a burgundy jacket.
